Workload Automation Engineer
Job Description:
The Workload Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated job scheduling and workload management systems across both on-premises and cloud environments. In this role, youll support the monitoring of workload automation tools and help build and maintain job schedules that are essential to business operations across areas like Retail, Supply Chain, and Finance. This role leverages industry-leading tools and cloud-native services to ensure the reliable and efficient execution of critical business processes in hybrid IT landscapes.
- Support Scheduling Operations: Assist in implementing and maintaining job schedules across platforms and business services. Help translate business needs into reliable workload automation solutions.
- Maintain Automation Tools: Monitor performance and assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Improve Job Reliability: Review job logs to identify common failure points and assist in optimizing job flows to improve performance and meet SLAs.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Infrastructure Engineers, Software Developers, and DevOps teams to support automation initiatives and streamline workflows.
- Technical Execution: Apply foundational knowledge in Linux/Unix, Windows, scripting (e.g., Python, Shell), and APIs to support automation and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to Automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and assist in implementing solutions using scripting tools.
- Ensure Operational Stability: Help assess the impact of job failures and support incident response efforts. Participate in on-call rotation for critical issues.
Qualification
- Practical knowledge and experience on Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, Microsoft Tools, ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, ITIL Foundations, Stonebranch Universal Automation Center UAC, CA Workload Automation (ESP), Cloud Platform Knowledge.
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively share information with team members and customers.
- Customer service with EQ to understand customer's POV to be able to provide excellent support and service.
- Time management to efficiently fulfill tasks and gain learning in the process.
- Learning-Focused, finding ways to improvise in their field and use positive constructive feedback to grow personally and professionally
- Problem-solving, logical and creative in providing solutions to issues that may arise
